The Iowa State Track Meet is the largest High School track meet in the United States. It is the only combined girls and boys state track event and close to 40,000 spectators line the Blue Oval at historic Drake Stadium in Des Moines over the three-day event.
It is a showcase event for the State of Iowa, the IAHSAA, and the Iowa Girls Union and over 50 new state records were set over the three days this week.
On his weekly high school huddle show, Chad Harberts (Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier) covered the event live every day and compiled numerous interviews and video highlights.
On this week’s show we also have in-depth interviews with Head Drake Men’s Basketball Coach Eric Henderson (who prepped at Maquoketa Valley, IA) and the Head Football Coach Corey Kopatich who led Waukee Northwest to the State Semifinals in 2025.
