This Saturday’s rematch between Grand View and Benedictine (KS) will be a complete 180 weather wise from their September 6th matchup which the Vikings won 27-24, but hopefully the outcome remains the same. I went back and dove a little deeper into that game this past weekend.

Some of the components that led to Grand View, being victorious, were relying heavily on Dalten Van Pelt & Aisea Toki to lead the way on offense.
Talk about a quarterback’s dream
The Grandview O-Line had a great day in the week two match-up. The main factor in their win was the offensive line giving QB Jackson Waring all day to throw in the pocket. On one drop back he had 11 seconds to throw.
I thought Grand View’s defense was leaky in some areas. For the most part though they limited explosive running back Xavier Ugorji. But the middle of the field was wide open for a few plays that Benedictine didn’t capitalize on. They relied heavily on quick slants, out routes, and swing passes.
Benedictine quarterback Jackson Dooley had a good day through the air but the Vikings were able to turn him over a couple times.
While rewatching I was waiting for the Falcons to show some sort of double move on the outside but they kept hammering home the quick routes. So, that’s something I would look forward to maybe in this Semifinals matchup.
Expect Grand View to be able to effectively run the ball behind DVP, Bryant Williams, and the dual-threat man Jackson Waring. This Viking defense, led by Jackson FIler, John Argo, and Tucker Dickherber will fly around creating havoc.
I believe this weather is going to play perfectly into Grand View’s favor and they’ll find themselves in a warmer atmosphere next weekend, down in Fort Worth, TX for a chance to go back-to-back.
