Our SGI Sports team got together for our second pick ’em football podcast of the year. We picked 11 DIII, DII, and NAIA Games involving the teams we cover in Iowa.
It is a HUGE- HUGE -HUGE weekend for the DIII American Rivers Conference. Central, Coe, Dubuque and Wartburg all play huge non-conference games. If they can perform in these games, it bodes well for the conference to get two NCAA playoff spots this fall (like they did in 2023 and 2024).
A quick re-cap of our SGI Pick’em team for the fall football season
Brandon “Ghost” Leonard – Co-Editor SGI – HLV High School
Mitch Malloy – Coe College Football WR Class of 2017
Brandon “Rose” Roseberry – Coe College Running Back Class of 2017 – Center Point Urbana
Zak “Chef” Ranshaw – Coe College Offensive Lineman Class of 2018 – Iowa City West
John “JD” Gunderson – Co-Editor SGI
Jordan “J Cole” Cole – Marion High School
Tyler “Ty” Gunderson – Coe College Tight End Class of 2017 – Marion High School & Zach Gunderson Hebron Christian Academy OL, Dacula, Georgia. They are sharing a pick’em account.
We promise to try, really, really hard to be unbiased when it comes to the Kohawks. You can view our podcast on YouTube below or listen to the audio version on Spotify by clicking on this link .
All of us have day jobs and family commitments and each SGI Pick ’em leader will make the podcast when they can. So, our other weekly pickers had to submit their picks virtually (see below)

As we go through the season we will have our SGI team on the weekly podcast. If you have been reading our content you know that we are a free publication with no paywall and all our SGI is 100% volunteer.
The lines we are using come from two great sites Massey Ratings for NAIA and D2 games and Hansen Ratings for DIII games. So, a big thank you to both those great sites and teams for the work they do to promote NAIA, DII, FCS and DIII Football.
Our goal is to have fun and bring some sunshine to the smaller Iowa Colleges and Universities (23 inside the Iowa State borders) with special attention to the former Iowa High School players who are competing at those schools.
As always, we appreciate your comments and support. Thank you for following us on X, Instagram and our podcast channels.
