Get Your Toilet Paper Ready

Since the 1970’s the William Penn Statesmen have had a tradition on one special home game of throwing toliet paper rolls onto the court after the Statesmen score their first basket of the game.

This tradition started against their rivals at the time in Pella, IA the Central College Dutch, but when William Penn moved to the NAIA level that rival for the Toliet Paper Game became their rivals in Des Moines the Grand View Vikings.

For over 50 years now when the first score happens the toliet paper flys. The Statesmen are immediately given a technical foul of course nd the game stops to clean up all the mess, but it is one of the most fun traditions in the State and in college basketball.

The Game starts at 7:30pm (Wednesday) and the Statesmen might score at 7:30 and 12 seconds, so I would encourage you to catch the live action on the great network that has the game live (free) Watch Urban Edge Network

It’s a fun tradition and it will be a great game.

We had a recent podcast with Hall of Fame William Penn Men’s BB Head Coach John Henry that was one of the most informative and fun podcasts we have done this year. You can listen to the podcast below.
