Wahlert Catholic won the Class 3A championship in 2024 with a 49-14 win over Humboldt for its first football title in school history.
Coach Jamie Marshall’s Golden Eagles capped off a perfect season (13-0) and brought the state title trophy to Dubuque.

Wahlert had never made a title game (the school was founded in 1959 and playoff football started in Iowa in 1972) and were only making their second trip to the UNI-Dome ever.
